“A Part of Me, a Part of You” – An Art Exhibition on Migration and Refugee Experiences

An exhibition by the XChange Düsseldorf project, funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

About the Exhibition

What does it mean to live in Germany with a migration or refugee background?

In the exhibition “A Part of Me, a Part of You”, participants of the XChange Düsseldorf project present their personal perspectives. The diverse exhibits were created within the framework of the project and tell moving stories about migration, displacement, and the search for identity.

The Opening Event: Voices Taking Space

We warmly invite you to celebrate the opening of this special exhibition with us.

When: June 8, 2026

Where: Central Library Düsseldorf (KAP1)

The opening will feature a powerful artistic performance: poetry slammers, poets, and authors from the project will raise their voices through spoken word and literary contributions. Their texts create a space in which experiences of migration and displacement become tangible through art.

Following the performances, guests will have the opportunity to engage in conversation about the themes and content of the exhibition.
