Our fields of work and areas of expertise
Promoting democracy
Democracy is not a matter of course – it must be actively lived and shaped. At AVP e.V., we are committed to a vibrant civil society and inclusive participation in social life. Political education and the teaching of democratic values are essential components of this commitment. Educational work is of enormous importance, especially for young adolescents who are developing their own view of the world and looking for their place in life.
As AVP e.V., we have therefore developed special offers that reach young people wherever they are, be it on the Internet or in local social spaces. We offer them guidance and support in finding their own voice and actively participating in political processes.
With our civic education programs, we want to actively contribute to strengthening civil society and promote the development of an open-minded, democratic self-image among young people. In doing so, we focus on promoting the acceptance of diversity, critical reflection and media skills.
How can I recognize extremist radicalization among young people? How can I prevent young people from joining extremist scenes? How do I counter group-focused misanthropy? – The AVP offers nationwide programs for the prevention of extremism in the areas of universal and secondary prevention. In addition to offering training and advice for professionals and multipliers, the AVP provides targeted support and advice for young people who are susceptible to extremist speech.
Strong Together
Social Engagement
Our commitment to the social sector spans a wide range of projects, programs, and initiatives that aim to create positive change for individuals and society, fostering a sense of solidarity. Whether through our Tannenhof daycare center, youth club, assisted living, or family support services, our goal is to empower people to participate in society while considering the diverse realities of their lives.
People at the Center
Humanitarian work
At AVP, we are dedicated to supporting people in critical situations. Through our humanitarian missions in affected regions, we provide essential aid such as food, medical care, shelter, and psychosocial support. Our work is guided by the principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence. Our goal is not only to offer immediate relief but also to foster long-term changes that help people restore their dignity and take control of their future. The ongoing crisis in Ukraine is having a devastating impact on the lives of millions of people who are in urgent need of support. Together with our partner organization United Help Ukraine, we implement targeted measures on site to help those in need and alleviate their suffering.
