AwareNet is currently developing SAMM (Social Automated Media Monitoring), a digital tool designed to help professionals identify, assess, and systematically process relevant public posts and comments on social media platforms more efficiently. The tool focuses on issues such as polarization, anti-democratic narratives, group-based discrimination, disinformation, and potential support needs.
SAMM collects selected publicly available content, organizes it in an internal database, and assists with the initial professional assessment through AI-generated summaries and preliminary evaluations. Relevant content is prepared as individual cases and then assigned to staff members for human review. The system does not make automated decisions about individuals.
During development, AwareNet places particular emphasis on human oversight, data protection, data minimization, and restricted access rights. Private messages, closed groups, and non-public data are not collected. SAMM is currently in the pilot and testing phase and is intended to make digital prevention work more efficient, transparent, and easier to coordinate in the future.
