“Talaq – How Muslims Get Divorced”: Knowledge, Exchange and Practical Impulses

On September 25, 2026, the school social workers of the Municipal Integration Centre Herne explored the topic “Talaq – How Muslims Get Divorced” in a workshop. How do religious and legal forms of divorce differ? What background knowledge should professionals have – and what options for action arise from this for practical work?

The workshop was led by our colleague Ms. Gerner, M.Sc. psychologist and trauma educator, from the Family Counselling Department. Alongside providing background knowledge, the focus was primarily on concrete options for action in educational and counselling practice. An active Q&A session and a lively professional exchange provided plenty of space for personal experiences, questions and practical examples. The result was an informative yet practice-oriented format offering valuable insights for everyday professional work.

Professional exchange, new perspectives and practical impulses that can be directly applied in educational and counselling practice.

Many thanks to everyone involved for the open exchange and their committed participation!
