Workshop at Duisburg-Meiderich Comprehensive School

As part of an educational workshop at Duisburg-Meiderich Comprehensive School, we focused on a particularly important topic:

Supporting Newly Arrived Students in Everyday School Life

The workshop was led by Maria Flemmer and Elena Libgober and addressed the following key areas:

• Raising awareness and providing support in working with newly arrived children and young people

• Linguistic, emotional, and biographical challenges in the learning process

• Cultural diversity and intercultural sensitivity in everyday school life

• Practical guidance and confidence for teachers

• Presentation of available support and counseling services

The participants brought with them a wide range of life experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives. The workshop helped teachers better understand this diversity and respond to it with empathy and appreciation.

The goal was to provide orientation, strengthen confidence in educational practice, and equip participants with practical tools for everyday school life.
